Arran first met Stevie of MJM when he bought some Premier league football tickets from him, and popped into the workshop to pick them up. He now describes him as one of the handiest tool’s in his toolbox!
Arran’s business has grown rapidly over the past few years, focused on house extensions, home renovations and kitchen installations. His team of three cover the Angus and South Aberdeenshire area, working primarily within the domestic market.
As a joinery business that spends a lot of time in client homes, Arran’s team have great portable tools; however when it comes to large scale cuts, moulding and bespoke fittings it can be time consuming and messy onsite. This means that jobs that can seem quite simple to the customer, can quickly become unprofitable to Arran’s business.
Working with a joinery workshop means that pre-manufactured products can be ordered and brought to the site ready to be installed - dramatically improving the customer experience and Arran’s productivity.

Usually Arran will call into the workshop with measurements but it is also known for Maddock Joinery to go onsite and obtain them when he has been held up elsewhere. He will drop in samples, or give him sketches of what he is looking for and MJM will create designs to match. Example projects have included bespoke skirtings, cupboards to hide boiler units, tight staircases, fitted wardrobes, architraves, front doors, sash windows and many more.
